Paying A Fee to play online games

I don't like the ideal of having to pay a fee to play online with computer games. We have to pay for the internet, we have to upgrade are PCs to play cool games and now some games are trying to make us pay a fee to play online. I can understand the console side of this but I still think it's wrong to make PC gamers have to pay a fee. Your thoughts?

P2P(Pay to play ) games just suck! Most P2P games are online only which sucks. seriously why do we have to spend $50 for the game then another $120+ just to play for a year or about $10 a month.

I think that the game developers are just kicking themselve in the butt. If this does happen they will soon realize that maybe it isn't such a good idea as they first thought that it would be. Paying a fee to play games that are on the net is a totally different story but still i don't think that even that is a very good idea.

The game developers love this. Look how many everquest freaks there are out there, there people who made everquest are probally swimming in a pool of money. Thats why I hate everquest. I already gave them my money for buying the game, Im not gonna give ya more. I could understand if the game was free, and the monthly fee was only 5 dollars, but some of these games are ridiculus.

tru that lem. It would be different if they gave the game to you for free. Then i would say go ahead and charge me to play online. I can't justify paying 50 bucks for a game and then having to pay even more money to play it online. If that did happen i would bet that there are going to be a lot of people trying to find a way around it. The game developers would only be hurting themselves in the long run. It would also be different if the game developers hosted every game server for that game livke with x box live.

there are games that are out right now that have a fee to play online. I wasn't aware of that. I thought that this was just a possiblity for the future. Could you please inform me on which games they are.

Is World of Warcraft going to cost money too?? I mean...im such a warcraft freak that i'll buy and pay...but all of my friends i know wouldnt. Blizzard is rich enough already...and after postponing the game for another 1-2 years...they better make it free.

Speaking of asherons call, there is no way to cancel your membership...I had to take all money out of my checking account for a month so they couldnt bill me and just cancel my play
