My broken PS2 that has the disc read erro is a waste of space and a peice of junk so when i was cleaning my room I threw it in with my dresser full of insides of PC's, and I relized I could do something with that junk. So I took apart my PS2 and took everything out to where there was only plastic and the bay I took my very old very small 16 GB hard drive and stuck it in the bay. It fit snug, perfectly. Then I took my old compaq motherboard out a laptop and shoved it in there only a couple of places didnt fit so i filed it down with a file. after I got that secure I had to chop up the plastic were the fan was that way the usb and all the good junk could breath. I found that if i just drilled a whole were the fan screws were but on the other side (outside) and secured the fans down. After that i got a external dvd/cd-rw and put it in the PS2 where the disk tray was, I had to round it a little bit tho. I ran the USB cord threw the ps2 to the outside.
So at this point I have A MotherBoard In place of the PS2 MotherBoard.
A External USB Dvd/Cd-rw in place of the disc tray.
A Hard Drive where the Bay is.
And the fans on the opisite side where they should be.
Now my harder part conecting the fan wires from the PS2 to the motherboard of a compaq. And Making the Rest button the power on and off and the open the button open the external dvd/cd-rw. I didnt go all out I just cliped the wires from the reset button and made them longer to reach the motherboard. and added a peice of metal to hit the external dvd/cd-rw when i hit the open button. << was getting tired ill fix it sometime later.
Ok i was almost done i just needed a power supply so that was last because i had no money, but i eventually got it actually yesterday. well anywho i put it right were the ps2 power supply was and i was amazed it aligned perfect with the whole already there i just had to cut the little peice that comes in like an hour glass and i was done.
