i figure if it says geforce 4 its good enough for me...how much ram is on it...if it has 128 you will be absolutely fine no matter what your trying to run...

Avoid the GF4 MX series,
nVidia has stripped off most of the features they've added since the GF2,
the MXes, don't support any of the new shadders, dynamic lighting and volumetrics stuff we've seen on the GF3 and 4.

right now the best budget card out is either the GF3 Ti 200 or the Radeon 9000 Pro.

it all depends what you are wanting to do with the card. I personally just got a geforce 4 mx 420 until the geforce fx comes out. It is fine for what i do and i game a lot

i have the gf4 mx420 cause it was integrated in the mobo and i don't have a job to go out and buy a nice new shiny one for my ugly brown agp slot

Yeah, I'd avoid anything with MX. The TI series is great. A decent priced card is the GeForce 4 Ti 4200.

i herd that wen doom 3 comes out that all the prices of video cards are gonna drop because doom 3 can only play on high end video cards. is this tru? im waiting anxiously 4 it to come out so i can play doom 3 on my xbox and buy a new video card.

I've seen the alpha testing copy of Doom3 played on 1Ghz, 123mb pc100, and Geforce2 32mb...choppy as can be, but that doesn't mena anything cause that was just alpha

yeah they showed on nov 4th. they almost got sued by the developer. thats y they werent alowed to show the segment neway. kevin rose found the leaked demo on the internet and they showed him play it with leo by his side. i thought it wuz [/b]DOPE. The graphics were awesome and it wuz slowin down even with the lan party computerz.
