Hi All, I have a question...
I'm in the process of painting my case, and when I went to take the top part of, I realized it is riveted to the body of the case.
What would be the best route to go as far as removing the top piece? Or maybe I just don't remove it, and paint it while still on the case.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

if you want to remove it you could use a drill and drill the center of the rivets. I don't know if they are the same kind of rivets though that i use this technic to remove them but it is worth a try

your best bet is to go to your local auto parts store and see if they have a rivet bit. not only will it allow you to get a rivet out but also leave you with a clean hole to do what ever is necessary.

If its a Chieftec style case, I have a walk through with pictures.
Here is One. -->:) (http://www.virtual-hideout.net/articles/project_tivoli/index3.shtml)
There are 4 of them for the top bezel. I cant seem to find the really good walk though at this mlmnt.

if you decide to just paint it without removing the rivets just use cardboard and tape.

use blue tape from any paint or hardware store to mask off anything you dont want painted. (blue tape is a low adhesion tape so it wont damage the paint underneath when u remove it) I wouldnt recommend drilling out the rivets unless you have a rivet gun to replace what u did, even if you did have a gun, have fun finding rivets that match. :P MAKE SURE that if youre painting the whole case that ALL entries to the inside are taped off (i.e. vents etc) especially if the power supply is still in when u do it.
