OK well I just typed up a huge thread and somehow it got lost when I tried posting. So to make things short. Im having problems. Im building a new computer with a Soyo KT400 mobo a AMD XP 2200 CPU memory from my old computer PC2100 256 old nvidia card and 40gb Maxtor hard drive from old system. Got it all install boot up and no video. The guy at the computer shop in town gave me an old pci card to try and still nothing. No beeps either (which I had gotten before but moved memory to different slot and cleared cmos and beeping stopped) Computer guy thinks its mobo or cpu didnt get installed all the way. A friend is gonna help look at it tonight. What are your thoughts?

Oh and I also got this case due to money http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp?image=11-171-039-01.jpg/11-171-039-02.jpg/11-171-039-03.jpg/11-171-039-04.jpg/11-171-039-05.jpg/11-171-039-06.jpg/11-171-039-07.jpg/11-171-039-08.jpg/11-171-039-09.jpg
I dont suggest anyone else get it. Its total sh**

Will post pics as soon as I have a working computer.

Look and see if any pins are bent ot missing on the cpu, if everything looks ok try re-seating the CPU in it's socket. If that doesn't fix it then more than likely your mobo is bad, the only way to test that is try using a different board.

Well I am finally up and running. A friend came over the other night and took the battery out of the motherboard and put it back in then checked to make sure all the cables were connected right. System booted up. But then when it tried loading XP all I got was bluescreen. So I had to do some reformatting and reinstalling of XP. Now everything appears to be running right...*knocks on wood*

So now on to my work log. So the front panel on the case was broken when I opened it up from the box but I didnt really want to send it back since i needed to get things up and running. So will bondo fix cracks in plastic? Tomorrow I will actually have pics of everything. I told my friend that i thought bondo might fix it and he thought I was crazy....maybe I am. This case is gonna need some serious modding to get looking good. Well that just an update on how things are going so far. More to come tomorrow.

Some of those soyo boards you really have to seat the expansion cards hard. On the other hand, I had a computer that wouldn't boot once and it turned out to be the networking card.

Take everything out but what you need to just boot, double check everything. Plug and pray...

Well system is finally up and running smooth. Had some problems with my XP installation. But I do believe everything is finally running smooth. Now I cant seem to remember where I placed my camera. I swear I will get pics soon.

Ok here's is one idea I think I might want to go with for my case. I had already cut out the superman shield in my other case. So now I have that extra metal piece. What I was thinking was cutting out a normal square window in the case. Using plexiglass possibly for the window. I would then fix the metal shield to the center of the window. On the window I would also like to etch out some kryptonian sympols. The inside would be lit up with a couple green cathode lights. If Im not mistaken the etched parts should stand out more? I tried drawing up a quick idea in paint. It doesnt look good but its just an idea. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea? Am I going in the right direction? What else can should be done? Is that too many questions?

Ok been doing some more brainstorming and Ive come up with a couple more ideas. That link is to pics of my case. The first link I posted is wrong. At the bottom of the case is a "hidden" area for usb and audio. Well I dont like those ports being on the front so I took that out. I thought about maybe putting the floppy down there but its a little too big and I would need to do a lot of changes I dont really think I want to do. Im thinking of maybe putting an LCD down there instead. Tonight my dad is coming to visit and he's gonna show me some stuff with bondo. He's been working with it for many many years on model cars and at his job (Fiberglass company building parts for busses and campers) So onto some more ideas I had for the case. I absolutely hated the power buttons. There was this idea I got from some superman magnets that are about 2"x2". Well I measure the 3.5 spots and if I remove both covers its 4"x2". That would be perfect for fitting in 2 different magnets for the power and reset. Now I know youre probably think "dumby you cant use magnets" I know this already. So either I need to make something similar or find something else. Or maybe demagnetize? But it was an idea I had. (Hopefully you understand what Im trying to explain.) Now for the case its self I really want a Kryptonite theme. I want my Kryptonite to look like meteor tho and not crystal. I want the case to either A: look like one big chunk of Kryptonite or B: Have the case look like it was hit by Kryptonite with pieces embedded at random places. I already said I want it to looke like rock but I also need it to glow. Not sure how to do this so any suggestions Id love to hear them. Ive decided I really want to use Audiotech's suggestion of using two panels of plexi for the window. On one panel I will have the superman S in red and on the other I want Kryptonian writing in grean. Im hopeing this will work out with LEDs. I dont think I will have any cold cathodes inside the case but will be using green lights for anything else like fans molex connectors and anything else that I can find. Hopefully this wont interfer with the red. I hope all this is easy to understand and will at least give you guys an idea of what direction Im going with. Please post any ideas, suggestions, or questions.

Heres some pics for ideas.
