XBOX Ver. 2.0

well today i started my xbox ver 2, my first xbox was as follows

custom paint ( white "x" )
clear jewel
controller port LEDs
cold cathode (blue) under jewel
external HDD
dual internal 80mm fans

with that said im bored of it and i need something new. the new xbox will eliminate the external drive to make it portable for lan parties.

acrylic top ( "x" cutout )
acrylic HDD base
2 cold cathode neons
Etched Mental Case logo ( my site! )

future mods include an LCD and compatable chip...maybe...i will have to buy another box for live if i do that...errrr

i upgraded the IDE cable with a rounded one it adds a nice look and hella better performance, i have 4 temp sensors, CPU, GPU, HDD, and Case.
the rest is self exlpanitory.

now all i have to do is integrate the LCD and add some plexi...and another cold cathode the is MIA ( Missing In Action )

the dvd rom is stock hight, the hdd is mounted to plexi glass

hey thats awesome looking and all but cathode lights give off a UV light that is harmful to some computer parts (xbox parts alike). You should maby look into the less power consuming, cheaper, and safer El Wire. Which can be found at llamas site just incase you didnt know. Llama.com

those arent UV lights, and ive been running htese in my xbox's for over a year now. no problems at all.

It may run fine for now but after about a year or two you will notice some wear on the board witch will lead to shourts. I dont mean to be a know it all. cause i definenty dont. infact. im a dum ass... but if i know one thing. its how to make a penut n' jelly sammich!

Nice! How about a metallic/chrome paint scheme? Are you going to paint the controllers to match?

yea i think i will go with a gloss black with metallic blue flake to match all the lights.

1. i used a dremel
2. hot glue, but i might use some plasti-bond
3. the Acrylic*** was heated and bent slightly to match the box, although you could just pressure bend and secure it.
4. i made brackets that are attached to the dvd-rom tray.

have you put any thought into putting a window on that HD? that would be a very slick addition to a very slick case. also can you put a window in a DVD drive. I've seen lots of HD but no DVD/CD drives. I think it would be awsome to be able to see the DVD being loaded into the drive and running.
