My XP 2000 temps are running between 57C-60C,also my case temps are between 44C-46C is this too hot? Ive got 1 80mm fan in the back of my case and a 430 watt PS with duel fans.

Not sure what kind of case it is,I think its a Foxconn mid tower, picked it up on Ebay a while back"Cheap" maybe thats the problem
Im using a program called EasyTune that came with the MB to check the temps.
The heatsink is the one that came with the processor.Any suggestions for a better 1,thanks

my xp 2000 runs at around 46C with the heatsink that came with the processor and one case fan. I would try adding another case fan. It isn't really a big problem until you start to notice that you system starts to run unstable. Also what were you doing right before you looked at the temperature. This will somethimes make a big difference

K, re-cap: home-ade

I run a XP1600 OC'd to 1800 speed. The hottest I get is 35C (load). Idle is 32C. Speedfan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan407.exe) to test CPU.

if you have any ?'s feal free to e-mail him. (just tell'm Burke sent ya ;)

warning-this is loud.

IF you do not want to go this extream on the Proc. cooler, at least get a good after market "valcano" or something.. and get 1 80mm intake and 1 80mm out case fan. Those small cases are known for this. When I had one, I drilled holes in the front bezel for intake. Here (http://www.coolerguys.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=001&Category_Code=F-80) The standard Vantecs are just fine.

If the case temps are that hot (mine are only 24*C) then it's not necessarily the HSF that needs to be replaced atm, but rather more air-flow in the case or a new case such as this one (http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/antecplus1080amg/).

If you don't want to go for another case, then just add more fans like Burke suggested...make sure (air in) = (air out).

Supposedly the AMD stock fans are suppossed to work fine, but you could have gotten ripped on those.

I have a 1800xp runing at 46C for desktop work and 51C for gaming.

This is using a Zalman Flower running at 2000rpm and one case fan at the back.

I know I could make the case temp go down by using more fans but I want my pc to stay quite. We I get my bay control up they I will add more fans.

I am using a AMD XP 2000+ and ASUS A7V333 MB and started with temps of 60C with the side of the case off. I have added an intake fan but need to drill holes to get more airflow to the fan, also cut out the grill in back and put in a simple fangrill. I just bought a Volcano 6 because the Volcano 7 was too rich for my blood. I think Im just start cutting holes in my case and adding fans.

Stock HSF

Its really loud but, its better than a burnt cpu and fryed mobo like what happend to my new soyo kt333 dragon mobo and 2100+ :x
