hope you've got a comfy chair
A64 has been delayed till..... september.
Opteron is on target for April.
Barton 3000+ will have a full release in late Q1, with a 3200+ following towards summer.

read the bad news Here (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/VirtualPressRoom/0,,51_104_543~66302,00.html)

As bad as this sounds, it's not a death blow right now. Intel isn't expected to increase the clock speed of P4 much this year, ending up with a chip in the upper 3.x ghz range. However they will be increasing the L2 to 1meg, upping the FSB to 800mhz (200x2x2, dual channel 200mhz DDR ram) and revambing their DDR DC chipsets.

I think that will be quite a boost for Intel though...that's one heck of a FSB.

the 3000+ isn't worth anything near what they're asking for it though (when compared to the performance of other AMD's that is)

It's actually 84 MHz slower than the previous model. Evidently double the cahe equals double the cost.
