You have to tell us how you did that one. I think that would even make Yoshi jealous!

I used a 6ft. neon glow wire to make the keyboard.

Looks neat! Must be fun routing it so it doesn't affect any of the keys? And did you get power from the keyboard itself or an external power supply?

Untill I upgraded my power supply I was running a second one to power the lights in the kbd and case, now all case lights are on my main ps and I still have to make a connection on the back of the pc for the lights. and routing the cable wasnt as bad as you would think, there was plenty of room for the keys to move and feel ok. and I used a dremel to cut between the sections of the keyboard.

oh yeah and I actually found the glow wire at target in the automotive section, I've seen it at other stores like that too.

Yup, what we can do for a few bucks with EL wire, they charge customers... $99.99!.
DOOM AND GLOOM KEYBOARD! (http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/keyboards/5c3f/)
It's a good keyboard that is very well made, but I don't think I would ever spend $100 bucks on one.

:o What is the make of the keyboard with the clear keys that is one of the more interesting mods I have seen recently?

It's a commercial product. I don't have time to grind away 104 blocks of plexi into suitable keys, and then screen print the letters on. It uses a membrane in the keys. Kind of like keyboards now, except the membranes are PART of the keys. I couldn't tell you exactly who makes it. The link is lost somewhere in the binaries of time. But ThinkGeek sells them. Follow the yellow brick road:

That keyboard looks like my indestructable keyboard that I got at radioshack but without the outer-edge and no lighted keys.

It wouldn't be too easy considering they are a sealed unit, you would have to find a way to re-seal it after.

you need to find a bright enought led for the mouse, like one form those super bright keychain lights.

You want a super bright LED if possible, although others will work. I did the above mod a while ago, with a radioshack LED and it has worked fine every since then.

I too used the 2600cmd led from Radio Shack. Not quite bright enough to be used on any surface, I need to use it in a really bright room or on a white piece of paper. Maybe I just didn't line it up in there right

it doen's thave to be suber bright to make it work, the 2600mcd 3.3v one from radio shack works, but you have to make sure it's lined up right, if it's not close enough to the bottom of the mouse the light won't reach the sensor

your all wrong...... you piggyy bac TWO 2600mcd led's
one replaces the red led, the other sits on top of that one. the 2 leds are enough light. my mouse tracks perfectly. and glows *REALLY* bright blue.[/url]

IM planning on doing a keyboard mod, but now Im looking to replace the missing PS/2 cable.
Where would be the best place to get one?
I need the whole PS/2 cable, from the internal 2 pin plug to the external plug.

Would that mouse mod work with a logitec dual optical? Could I use a white on one and a blue in the other? I am just afraid to rip apart my mouse and not be able to put it back to normal.

just a small tip for those of you who can mod, i think it'd be pretty awesome if you modded the keyboard where the cord going to the computer lit up along with the keys. maybe not all the way but at least as far as the cord was visible.

You could wrap it with EL wire. I'm not sure how great that'll look, but it'd work.

Hey []V[] Deathscythe is there a switch to turn it off or is it always on?
1 more thing... how do u power the light?
Glowing keyboards, what will they think of next?
Sorry this is an old one to quote but I got an idea...
Wouldn't it be sweet to have the monitor like clear plastic?
Maybe a few LED's inside...
I don't mod realy so I'm not sure if it's possible or not...
EDIT: OMG    :!:
U know how the mac keyboards are clear plastic?
Wut if u put LED's in there?
That'd be sweet...
BTW can u use a mac keyboard on a PC?
I know there's that clover button or w/e...

CDRW Mod with a Lipton Ice Tea Mix can ring for window frame.
I know a lot of you modders have a bunch of fans laying around
I took some helping hands for holding wires and Led's for soldering
and a 12 volt power adapter that plugs into the wall.Added some wire
and a molex plug. Now I can have a cool breeze anywhere I need it(exspecialy on my Starband modem HOT) and it dosen't use any of my computers power :!:

..Mine's wireless, so that wouldn't really matter.. but I dunno. That would probably be a little too much LED for my taste. *shrug* This may sound stupid, but are there any black-ish coloured LEDs?
The "Blackest" LED you'll find would be purple... and I don't even know if they exist.
