hey everyone,
does anyone still play the original unreal tournament now that unreal tournament 2003 is out. I still do. Yeah i could play ut 2003 on my computer but i don't feel like shelling out 50 bucks to buy it at the moment.

im a newb 2 the unreal series but i luv unreal championship on my xbox. alothough i dont like that it has no storyline whatsoever

well thats what Unreal and Unreal 2 are for....unreal championship is the same as Unreal Tournament 2k3....neither has a storyline, its just a deathmatch type of game....isnt supposed to have a storyline...

Hello, I am new hear, and this thread caught my attention.
I work at a school and once in a while i break out the UT GOTY edition and put in on like 10 or so puters and we all freak on it. I also have an unreal tourney server running on my network so the students can play once in a while. (of course I run it after school lol)

I still play Unreal Tournament, and I play it in Linux, actually runs much better than it does in windows XP. I don't do much online gaming, but we have weekend langames.

I've seen ur2k3 and ur2, I like the orignal much better.

UT singleplayer isnt meant to be played...the single player sucks, as well as the sinhgplayer in UT2k3...there just like add ons, the games meant to be played online.

We run tournament at work every night, al our comps are below a gig with low end cards and it runs great on them. Good way to kill time and get paid for it, ha ha DAMN THE MAN :twisted:

I have heard that a lot, but I enjoy playing it, if for no other reason to hone my skills :wink: . Singleplayer mode is in no way the same as multiplayer, but it does serve a purpose. as least I think so.

I play UT more then i play ut2k3 matter of fact i dont have it installed anymore I really cant stand the new one at all its too quake-ish to me i really dont like quake i prefer the old ut over the new i think that they ruined the game it seems to be too slow paced maybe it was the servers i was on as i am use to play at 125 speed all the time... thats what my clans server is set at

Im a really huge Unreal fan, i have Unreal Gold, Unreal 2, UT, and UT2k3 installed on my system, i love everygame, I was a little dissapointed with UT2k3, but i still play it every now in then, but UT is just so fun!

i borrowed ut2003 from a friend when it came out but ti just wasn't the same. ut is much better than it's newer counterpart

why? Infogrames has no intentions of making UT2k4.

how would know? even know you do not believe me, I work in the video game industry. i believe that a UT2K4 will be great for Infogrames.

because....they would have announced it already. If your in the video game business then you would know how long it took for a game like UT2k3 too make. Thus if UT2k4 was being made it woulda been annouced and in the works to be released late 2003 or early 2004. Its not gonna happen. UT2k3 will lead the feild for quite some time now. just as UT99 did when it first appeared on the spot, It was doing incredible the first 3-4 and it still has no inentions of dieing.

i played original UT for a few weeks maybe.
played the UT2K3 demo once.
UT2K3 is a rehash of UT, not much new worth going out and spending money on.
I still prefer id software games over Unreal because they just make it flow so smooth and do a much better job. I love Quake3Arena and lots of the mods for it. I played all the way through RCTW but didn't like the online play. I always go back to Quake*.

The quake games are more of story time of games, with levels. The better selling Epic games are just deathmatch free for all type of games, like UT and UT2k3

I have a copy of UT, got it when it was new....UT is IMO better than UT2k3

can you really get it at wal-mart. I my disk is so scratched that i can't install it anymore and was looking for somewhere that sold it. I looked everywhere including wal mart and i couldn't find it. I guess i will have to look again.

I get an error....the error says "error" no number, no file refrence, nothing... then UT starts up in a window with 640 X 480 res (YUCK!) anyone experience this before?

uh.....WOW old post you know what it was..... it was a driver update problem... windows XP's Voodoo drivers suck... I found a 3rd party site that makes a utility for my card.. it works great now
