I am planning on getting an electric guitar some time soon, if there are any guitar players here can you give me links to some good electric guitars in the price range of 200$ and 400$...thanks :)

Those two are some good music equipment sales places on the web, and in the $200-$400 range you can find a good Peavey, Ibanez, ESP, or Schecter. But the choice of guitar maker is really something that depends on what you want to play. I mean you don't want to buy a double humbucker guitar for playing country or light rock.

I could probably give you a little advice if you want, I don't personally play well but I fool around with music and insturments all the time.

Spend the $400 on a Jackson or Ibanez.

You could get a nice fender for that price too

Well, it all depends on what kind of music's going to be played. I mean you don't need a H-H guitar for country music, and you don't want something like a S-S-H for heavier stuff. As well as you wouldn't want something like a Les Paul for shredding, you'd need an Ibanez or ESP for doing some good shredding.

Like anything else, it all depends on what it's used for that will determine what needs to be bought.
