Howdy. I'm going on a week long cycling trip soon, but I've got a problem. My mp3 player is great, it's an archos studio 20. The problem is that the battery only lasts about 3-6 hours before dying. I'm not going to be near any outlets the entire trip, but I would love to listen to music. Do you guys know of any good battery run mp3 players, possibly one with a good amount of size? I've been looking at this kanguru flashdrive but I can't find any reviews for it and it's only one Gb. Any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks!

Does it charge through USB, Firewire, a AC-DC converter? If it charges though an AC-DC converter, what voltage does it run off of?
Its very easy to make a charger using a combination of 1.5 and 9 volt batteries.

It's very easy to make a battery pack for something like that. Well, it is if you know where the (+) and (-) go to. :D

Wow, those were some quick replies. It uses a 9 vdc converter running at 600 milliamps. I thought about building a charger since it would use regular 9v batteries, but I couldn't find anything about it in google about it so I figured I might as well just update. If you know of a site with instructions that would be great! I would always prefer to build something rather than shell out 150+ bucks!

heh heh, you could try to rig something up so it charges when you cycle. the faster you go the better the charge :)
but seriously, I once saw some solar cell battery things on a camping site when I was looking for some gear for myself. the one I saw attaches to a back-ack and has a cord that I'm sure can be attached to some sort of adapter that you can plug into your player. unfortuanly I have no idea what its called or where I saw it. I also saw some specificaly for mp3 players but again that was along time ago (last summer) and at the time my mp3 player was broken so I didn't really look to hard into new things for it. they are out there though and would be perfect for a bike trip where you would want to keep your mess/weight down as much as possible.

Yea, I've already looked into those solar cells. They are very expensive! As for the bike-charger idea, I've already searched for one and couldn't find anything. ><.
So nobody has any recommendations for a good battery driven mp3 player then?
