What'd everyone think of the tests yoshi did on TSS?? I was dissapointed! That Thermalright SLK-800 has got me thinking about going back to Air Cooling..

i liked it, it showed that you don't have to spend alt of money to get good if no great cooling

One thing to remember is that they were all good products. The SLK cooled great, but the 84cfm fan.... is really loud. I would never use it on a system in my room at home.
I use a slow speed fan on my air-cooled home system. which means its not overclocked. I use liquid cooling at home to OC. It cools to the same level at a fraction of the noise. Its more expensive but I keep my Gaming PC in my bedroom, and dont want a loud machine.

ya, i would like to get rid of my 84CFM.. she is a loud one.. (but OC'd and load @ 34c is good..
istead of buying these setups.. im making my own, from some of these more up to date parts.
hope to get cold+ quite.
The idea will be to get a "new-generation" of heatsink, then an 80mm to 120mm adaptor, 120mm fan (slower spin'n yet pulling the same amout on air) , THEN a "smart fan" adaptor such as Tt or FX card ..

I'm gonna build a computer soon and it gave me some ideas for processor cooling.
