the 900 had been out performing the 800 by a little. so its a god choice for amd or intel. also look at the thermaltake spark7 thats another top end p4 hsf.

Since I just ordered the SLK-800 I was wondering how careful I should be if I ever take my computer anywhere? I know that its heavy and is there a big chance of taking the whole processor mount off if I take it in the truck somewhere? Maybe a stupid question but I it takes a lot of my paycheck to pay for these parts.

I loved it. I would recomend a variable fan because with the better fans it is really loud.... It out performed a koolance with the 80mm Vantec fan for me.

i've heard some amazing things about it too.
though i have some kind of a special ax-7 sink. i get insane temps out of this thing. right now i have a cpu temp of 26*.... its nuts.

I think that I want one of these. What vantec fan was that Yoshi? Was that the stealth or the tornado?

I have the Thermalright SK-7 with a 80mm Vantec Tornado, I loves it.
That Thermalright SLK-900 must be something of beauty with the Vantec 92mm Tornado, WHOPPING 119CFM :o :o
"Conquistador" It was the Tornado model.

how can you stand the sound of that fan. i have a smartfan 2 so i can control the fan speed to whatever i like. i would flip out if i had only the choice of full blast for fried cpu.
Anyone out there know of any manufacturer that makes CPU and Case Cooling fans with ALUMINUM or STEEL fan blade assemblies. Speaking from experience I know these types would be MUCH quieter since there is no flex in the blades themselves. :?
