personal theator

I would like to create a small theater system for my friend in a rented apartment. I want to spend anywhere from 500-750 dollers for the system itself. if anything id like it all be from newegg or radio shack. any setup is fine with me. its for a small space id say about a 1.5 to 2 meter box is all he has for space. I would also like to include a dvd player in it if at all possable. go at it guys id like to hear some ideas cuz i just dont have any at the moment.

do you want like a media center? or like the actual equipment (ie, speakers, recievers,dvd\cd players, so on). if its for a media center than you'll be fine with newegg. but if you want like the actual equipment neither newegg or radioshack will be the place.. i'd suggest Sixth Ave. they have amanzing quality stuff there. if you clear it up a lil more (maybe i'm the only one confused) i will help you out

The Sony Dream systems are nice. They run about $400-500, they have 5 disc progressive scan players that support mp3, SACD and all the goodies. Do you have a TV, or is that part of the budget too.

its an old school tv but it works. its not black and white but its fron 1995ish. so yeah its already in there. where can u find the sony dream systems?

I personally have the DAV FC9 model. You can find them on Ebay for pretty cheap. I'm happy with mine. Plenty loud enough and the bass is awesome. The only downside is it's kind of slow switching from one disc to another, but that's a real minor consern. And it's idiot-proof set up, each speaker has a color coded wire connection.
