All the fellow did was swap his PS1 hardware into a different case. It's a good project, especially if you have the parts required sitting around and want some practice. The 'video card' he used was just the proprietary board from the PS; you'll notice the A/V input has an akward spot on the front-upper-left-side, since I assume it's connected to the equipment pretty thoroughly. It doesn't interface with the computer that could be put with it in that box at all, unless you plug the redyellowwhite cords into videoaudio-in, and that's a rather roundabout interaction.

I'm not familiar with the X-Box hardware any, but it's probably a bit easier to move into different-shaped cases, acting on the assumption that the parts used are on seperate equipment, and all that. You won't be doing any sort of part replacement, unless you're some sort of kinky genius with that sort of thing, and you certainly won't be sharing parts between different systems.
