itunes and ipod updater will not recognizes ipod.

Ipod, Ipod, Ipod. I am really "love" this "wonderful" Little device called the Ipod.
Ok, so now on pc windows pc xp home, with the latest itunes and ipod updater my ipod will not be recognizes and sometimes when I connect my "lovely" ipod to itunes when the program is running, can we all guess what happens.....? thats right boys and girls the "dreaded blue crash of death". I can't recall all the errors that come up because there has be a few. However the first i wrote down and fixed the problem, it was Driver_corrupted_MMpool.
So now It seems i have a four hundred and thirty dollar paper weight.
So, I was wondering has anyone else with this "terrific" little marvel of technology has had any problem recently with their ipod.

Does this happen with both USB and Firewire? And I assume you've uninstalled/reinstalled the software? Try uninstalling itunes and letting Windows detect your ipod as a removable drive see if the same thing happens...

i have done everything that apple support website tells you to do, the only thing that i can think of is that there is something wrong with the updated verison of itunes, because this all happened after i installed that. BUt for some reason even installing the orignal version doesnt fix the problem. And it doesnt work with another pc tried it.
