C'mon guys this is the Yoshi Board after all, you should be talking about racing sim's.Anyone know of anything good on the horizon, or something good that I should be playing? Theres a bunch of new rally games out and more coming soon. Anyone hear about any new lemans games in the works? Im still a huge fan of the old Sports Car GT from EA. And for some strange reson the original Podracer is still a blast.

I agree racing, racing racing. I am longing for a good racing sim. None of the games I have played have had enough real world physics. I know it will make the games harder but I want a real chalenge. Its no fun if every single game that comes out you can easily beat in all difficulty levels within a week. I want one that I will have to practice at to get really good. Arcade action is fun to messs around with but a hyper realistic mode would be great also.

Its a 1985 Celica Supra or a Celica XX in japan or if you play Sega GT2002, or GT2. I race it as much as I can afford to in SCCA Solo 1 and Solo 2. Theres videogames for every other day of the year.

Just an Idea!

I run a on-line racing league playing the SIM NASCAR Racing 2002 and find it very competitive. We run for a championship from February to November and have race teams just like NASCAR. We will be upgrading this year to the new NASCAR 2003 which shows more promise for difficulty and user interaction. There are two arenas of play. Arcade which we do not do and Simulation which we do play. This allows you to work on your setup, paint your car and a whole array of other individual choices with all your work on or off track being seen by your fellow League SIM drivers. Anyway that is what keeps us busy. There are many NASCAR SIM leagues to join and all run different divisions or points championships. The league I am responsible for is HammerKnights Racing at www.HammerKnights.com This is the best racing SIM we have come across for competition and individual tweaking of cars for more SPEED....

Thanks

Yes we are also looking for a side SIM for Road Racing in addition to NASCAR 2002. That is why we settled on the NASCAR Racing Sims at this time because it seemed to be the best out there at the time. We will continue our NASCAR Racing but hope to have an alternative soon for another nights events. If anyone sees something interesting in the PC format please let us know. We were also looking at F1 maybe but just haven't found anything as realistic at the NASCAR Sims... Again if anyone is intersted in Nascar come join us we would love to have you. Go to www.HammerKnights.com for info on how to join us.

Thanks

I like Ralli Sport Challenge its really fun. I just wish it would let me get out of control. Try grabbing the e-brake and try to spin 360 or more, it wont let you... I mean I understand its not a realaity sim. But I like having fun doing 360s and trying to keep going after the spin.

well, if you can summon enough strength to tear yourselves away from your consoles and comps, check if your local arcade has the Initial D game.

You might not like it too much Yoshi, since the physics aren't very realistic. The cars slide and fishtail very easily, but maybe the physics are real... I've never really tried to drift a 140 degree turn with a radius of around 50 meters going 120mph (200kmph).

If you can overlook the strange physics, the initial D game is pretty solid and worth the effort to drive to an arcade to play it.
here's where the website for the game is
www.segarosso.com (http://www.segarosso.com)
the english version of the site is still being made, but you can wander around the japanese site and maybe get an idea of how it looks.

by the way, in case you didn't know, the game is modeled after an anime titled Initial D, which explains why all your opponents in the pre-race trash talk/challenge are drawn anime style.
