I have a old confuser, currently running an AMD 200 chip. I want to hang onto this machine to use as a file server and to hook up my "old as dirt" flatbed scanner. I have been told that it is possible to put up to a K-6 550 chip and "underclock" the chip to work on the same MB as my 200.

Possible?? Anyone ???

50/50 shot.
K6-200ALR is 2.9V Socket 7
K6-200AFR is 2.2V Super SOcket 7, which would alteast in theory support the higher end K6-2s.
you know what motherboard it is?
