Broken Server Icons

There's a computer at my brother's office that seems to be a pain for him all the time. He says he always has to reinstall printer drivers and stuff like that. Nothing works right. I went in and reformatted it, installed printer drivers, made shortcuts for the software they need to run from the server, everything was cool.

He gets in there Monday and says the server icons don't work so he made new ones and the next day they don't work. This machine is left on 24/7 and I just can't figure out what the deal is. Any ideas?

Bad networking?

If the shortcuts are over a network it is always possible the network is at fault, not the server or the client.

Used to work. Works for every other computer on the network. They guy that set it up did do a real bad job, though. Not really sure how long this has gone on. I don't hear about things until my brother gets extremely mad about it and then I get yelled at like it's my fault. anyway...
