Ok, so its come time to piece together a new machine for myself, my current AMD 2200+ @ 1.8Ghz is starting to feel sluggish.
Since I have a bit of cash on hand, and because of the recent AMD price cuts I've decided I want an Athlon X2 chip. Needs to be in the 939 package, because I still have a nice video card (MSI Geforce 5900XT, AGP) and none of the AM2 boards have an AGP slot (atleast not a _true_ AGP slot)
So heres the question. I have everything else pretty much decided. I need to know if it is worth it to go from the 4200+ to the 4400+, for a 45$ price difference between the two. In case you dont know, the only difference between the two is that the 4200+ has 2x 512kb L2 cache and the 4400+ has double that, a 1mb L2. The only reason I really case is that if I want to get it, I need to wait another 3 days for my paycheck to clear. And this cable internet has made me a really impatient person.
I dont game, atleast not very often and not many intensive games. I do a ton of video work, a ton of graphic work, and I like to be able to do lots of things at once. For reference, heres the rest of my system. The motherboard and ram are already purchased. Any input on the rest of the system is welcome also.
