Firewall

Looking to upgrade my security on my network. I don't want your typical linksys/dlink/netgear router firewall.

What would you guys recommend for a firewall?

Try adding a middleman "firewall" PC between your router and Internet connection. Some examples that come to mind include SmoothWall and IPCop, and there are a bunch more if you just Google them.

The benefits to these are that they are easily updated to prevent new threats and they are more powerful and have more features. (Since when have you seen a WRT have a dedicated DMZ port?)

(And as a side note, if you go the SmoothWall route, stay with the 2.0 series, someone I know tried the 3.0 alpha and wasn't impressed since a lot of the features weren't working.)
