Here is how it works:
1) BUILD A MOD
2) DOCUMENT THE MOD
3) Post a description with a minimum of 2 images (up to 4 images per post) of the mod in the Cheap and Easy Mod Contest thread.
4) You may also link to more complete instructions (for instance a blogging site or your website).
You might ask, "It is really that easy?" Well, almost!
Additional Rules:
1) The mod you enter must be YOUR MOD!!!
2) The contest will run for the time stated in the current Cheap and Easy Mod Contest thread.
3) Each modder will only be able to entry one project per contest.
4) Mods must be fully documented with pictures.
5) Mods must cost less than $100 to complete and you must list the supplies used and costs.
6) The average person or novice modder (n00b :p) needs to be able to finish the mod in a few days. There is NO absolute on time.. just use your judgement on what is a "quick" mod.
7) Mods may be computer or non-computer types.
8) Previously published mods are eligible for the contest as long as they meet the rules above; however, previous winning mods are ineligible to enter again!
Voting:
1) All voting will be started as specified in the current contest thread.
2) Any registered user of Yoshi.us can vote on a winner.
3) Voting takes place via thread polls.
4) Voting will end 7 (seven) days after the contest has ended.
5) You may vote for yourself.
Winner's Reward:
Winners will receive a w00t! as well as a mod contest winner graphic (similar to the contributors graphic).
Unpleasantness:
If there is any doubt whether your contest entry meets the specifications above, an administrator will decide on the validity of your entry. All decisions are final, and cannot be appealed!
So if you wanna show off your modding skills.. here is your chance. Post your mod!
