Well since i'm not planning on any little mods that are by them self any time soon ill enter in an older one i did. more of a fabrication than a mod hope thats okay.

Materials-
(this was made using stuff i already had so im using "~" as an estimated amount of money)
Lexan (had it laying around)~5$
Acrylic round rod~2$ (for 8ft)
Acrylic rod (1/8 inch)~5$ (for 8ft)
random bolt and nut~2$

Time:
one afternoon

This was going to be a car dock for my moms creative zen micro

1)cut a back plate that was a little over sized for the player

2) using the rod and a lighter i carefully bent it to form a cage in which the mp3 player would sit
3) then using more rod cut to all the same lenght attached the cage to the back plate (just using some super glue) and let it dry

Next i decided i did not want it to be stationary, i wanted to be able to swivel the dock left and right.
4) to do this i took another piece of lexan that would be the base took a nut and glued it to the base
5) then took a bolt cut it down to about half an inch, took another piece of lexan (smaller) and attached two pieces of the rod it (ends at an angle) and the other end attached to the back plate, thus making the back plate now be on an angle.http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/6359/pict00584kw.th.jpg (http://img399.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict00584kw.jpg)
5) for more stability i added two pieces of round rod between the smaller piece of lexan and the rod that held the weight of the MP3 player to keep it from breaking off of the base.

It held up better than i thought, it was being used for about a year until a few months ago when my mother recieved a new mp3 player (actually my sisters old one)

Congratulations, I missed it. I forgot when this one ended. I guess my newest set of HD clocks will go into the next contest.

Congratulations, I missed it. I forgot when this one ended. I guess my newest set of HD clocks will go into the next contest.Somehow, I just don't think that's going to happen.i think this will officially end the cheap and easy mod contest because of lack of entries. thank you! drive through!I did have ideas for a few different mods; some of them just need a bit of thought before I start them.

That, and it's a shame I didn't take work-in-progress pics of my mouse-turned-MP3-player-case. :(
