is there a cheap mod out there like the stealth cd thingy? I am only 15 and am lookin for some cheap mods. And i have almost no money to spend on stuff. :cry: any help any body :D

Ya the stealth cd, its ceap(basicly free) , and easy to do.

If you have patience and some time heres something u can do. get some tape and newspaper (prolly round the house)mask off (CAREFULLY) all vents etc lights, buttons etc. Then goto the hardware store and get 1 can of metallic spray paint and 1 can of spray polyurethane. (about $10.00 max for both) make sure the metallic paint ix mixed thouroghly! then very lightly, apply a thin coat with fast whisping type spray strokes. let dry for 20 minutes, repeat until you have solid color. let dry 1 day. Then coat with polyurethane to protect the finish. remove masking. wala! Brand new metallic case! I did this with an old Mac 9500/200, monitor and keyboard so they all matched. Looked pretty sweet! No Digital Camera tho :(

round cables... get wire loom from your local auto parts dealer (for your power supply) ... umm.. compusa sales some stuff..

I would get rounded cables but I have on my motherboard one pulg fpr the hard drive and that also goes to my cd burner and another plug that goes to my DVD drive and CD drive. And I have another going to my floppy somewhere.........But will rounded cables cover that? Do rounded cables split to go to seperate drives??? Also the top CD drive cable is streachin as far as it goes...Where can I get rounded cables CHEAP???Im talking like 5$ and on down. I cant buy stuff online.... :cry: And any help on how to put a see though side on my case I not talkin glass i mean plastic... And tips on kepin my computer cool. I got a fan off a heatsink and that was LOUD!!! I need help on keepin my pc cool. How good to AC blowers work? My processor and power supply fried due to heat... :cry: cost me 120$ to fix both!!! :cry: :cry: :cry: oh well........Hey how do neon lights work? where do they plug in and how do I install one? Where can I get one cheap??

just make your own round IDE cables. its very easy and cheap! You just take the IDE cable and split the individual wires every 10 or so, do not cut the wires itself. then just wrap it up with elictrical tape. There is a guide somewhere, if I find it ill post it.

edit: If you make a mistake though many a time you can just wrap it with electrical tape and it will be fine. Also id practice this mod on spare IDE cables

You can round them yourself.. its free.. but one mistake with a knife.. and the cable is no good.. however there cheep anyways to replace.

how easy are neon lights to put in..?

if youre already worried about the heat dont even think of adding neon lights!!! :!: :shock: :!: If you goto any harware srore tou can get sone coated wire,(covered in clear pastic) and you can coil that around the nasty grey ata or scsi wire. If you are careful, use a razor blade to start the seperation of the scsi wires then gently pull them apart the rest of the way. they will automatically tear at the weakest point which will be the crease between the wires. If you dont want to do the couling wire around the grey wire thing. goto the hardware store and at least get colored tape. You can usually find it in the electrical tape section.

The glow in the dark sticker mod is pretty cheap. Here's what you do.
1.get some glow in the dark stickers that you like.
2.Stick them on your case where you think they look cool.

No need for any tools at all, although it's the least professional looking mod out there, and the least fun...hehe.

I will ferget the neon lights. I am afraid OF HEAT :shock: it destroyed me computer :twisted: . that was funny with the stickers. I saw some pics on rounding cables and it looked tacky. can i just rap electrail tape around over and over again and make it cool ok. or is that bad? Are there cheap catherder lights? I spelled that wrong. is there a cheap way to keep my computer cool? I have a little fan blowing into it now and the case door off. So i can see the inside :)

I am at my high school so i wont be back until monday.......is there a free way to get internet......

another thing to do is: Take the floppy cable, and cut it. Here is how its done:

You have 3 connectors. the end that goes to the main board, then the end that goes to the drive, then the one in the middle. Well, that end that goes to the mainboard can be cut-off (the looong piece).

You'll never need that long of floppy, and all the systems i have ever built, i have never used all the stupid length. So, if you bend that middle connector at about a 45 degree angle, and take a razor, stick it in there and slice it out. Then just use the part that already went to the floppy drive and put it in the drive, and use that middle connection for the mainboard.

and round it as well.

about cheap modding my first mod was stealth cd-rom 8) infact TSS got me into modding when Yoshi showed how to stealth the cd-rom on the show.(stealthing drives are pretty much free :wink: ) then I was in an auto parts store and picked up a blacklight. it takes 500 mili amps and runs on 12 v I will soon replace it with the light rope version heck I should add another power supply just for lights and fans!:D I will eventually paint the case and find a way to stealth my floppy drive too. :wink: Modding rules!

here is my mod self rounded cables, costs (free) :lol: used my dads electrical tape booyah, and i polished the inside too, kinda, need to do a little more work on it, step 1 would be removing finger prints :o

picture is kinda old, dont have that heatsink anymore, have a audigy2 in there now, dont have that lower hard drive cage, and put 2 80mm case fans in the front

the little black box in the lower front corner is the street glow hott wirez transformer, i had the wire in the front grill, but i left them on to long and the burnt out :(

well if you want a window just ask your mom for old picture frames(take the window ou, that is the part you are going to use) and then cut a hole in your case (i reccomend a dremmel tool)and super glue the window to the inside of the case and you will have a window
