need help with wifi

and said he couldn't get it to come on. so i installed windows xp using my install disc for my desktop since he didn't have any of the original discs for his. now i've gotten it up and running and everything seems to be working except for the wifi connection. does anyone have any idea how i might be able to get this to work? any info at all would be really appreciated..

i don't know what happened to the first part of my thread but his computer is a compaq presario v500

If the card came with the PC, take a stop by the HP/Compaq site and see if you can locate a driver there. If it's aftermarket, check the card manufacturer's website and/or google around.
