If you don't see the option in the bios then there is no way that I know. Are you running the 7600 gs in 4x mode? Alot of Nvidia cards won't run properly in 4x mode. Dude ecs sucks big time buy your self an 8x agp board they are dirt cheap.

Dude ecs sucks big time buy your self an 8x agp board they are dirt cheap. However, Socket 478 boards are growing scarce. I know that nightmare personally, as my ECS P4S5A (same board as you, DBest) shorted itself and took a perfectly good PSU with it about two months ago. Due to the very short supply of boards I could find, I'm on an ECS P4M800Pro now (also sucky because of the stupid Ethernet controller power problem that I'm not going to get into...).

If I recall correctly, the P4S5A has no way to change the AGP slot speed short of using a card that works only at that specific speed. Mine didn't, and the BIOS option listing in the manual doesn't have any mention of it either.

Incidentally, why would you want to clock the card down anyway?

I see that your BIOS has a Graphics Win Size setting instead of a AGP multiplier. Maybe play around with that? It sounds more like a PCI setting, though. Also, check your Primary Graphics Adapter setting, there may be some options when AGP is selected.

i have a major problem with halflife2 and i cant solve it and i was thinking of turning down the AGP. and i also have problems with oblivion. and this is stupid, i spent so much money buying a new card and i am getting all these problems. i know the card is OK because other people have the same problem with halflife2 . as for oblivion i dont know.

btw, ECS is good, i know they aint the best but that motherbord has lasted me for 4 years, my gigabyte mobo died way before that. and i have used that pc roughly sometimes and it still works great.

I would recommend trying the latest drivers you can find, if you haven't already.

With my new ECS board I'm using now, the GeForce 6200 I had was hiccuping with the drivers I had previously used successfully on another PC. And I'm talking screwing up while just dragging windows around, not even getting into any games. Thanks to a friend on IRC who had the same problem at one point, updating fixed the issue.

So like I said...check for updates if you haven't and apply them, restart, and see if that fixes the issue.

What about chipset drivers? Are you using this agp driver? (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=38&DetailName=Driver&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=8) Or are you using all the latest sis drivers from here (http://www.sis.com/download/) Specifically the AGP (cart driver) Also you might want to use their auto download feature to scan your system to make sure you have all the latest drivers.
