I have an older Linksys Wireless B access point that I am trying to get working. Anyone have any exp. with these? I'll get the specs and exact error tommorow.
Thank You

depending on the problem, i could lend a hand. btw, i will make a suggestion now. get a custom firmware, it makes your router do more, and make it stronger (better signal) look at DDWRT or HyperWRT.

cheers

The problem is that his access point is older than those replacement firmwares are intended to be run on. Chances are there will be no chance for him to get his router running one of those firmwares.

I sorely wish DD-WRT (or at least, a wired equivalent of DD) ran on a Linksys BEFSR41, but it doesn't.

Hanzo, my first recommendation would be to try and reset the router to factory-default settings, which usually can be done by holding the reset button in for about 30 seconds with the power disconnected. This will at least give you a clear slate to start from.

What kind of problems are you having? At this point, I agree with LT and recommend resetting the router to it's default settings.

I tried resetting it like you said. I downloaded the software from linksys and it says access point not found. It has power, just not getting the signal.
