Good day everyone,

I want to upgrade my friends PC.

His motherboard is ASUS P4VP-MX. It supports FSB533.

I want to put in a 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 which has an FSB of 800.
Will it work ?

Thanks.

Probably.
It *should* downclock like ram, at least mine did.

It should be usable, but you won't be able to take full advantage of the chip. If memory serves me from the last time I did it, the correct (original) speed of the chip might not even be reported. If it posts, it's working, though. ;)
