Hello everyone.

I have a Linksys AM300 ADSL Modem
and a Linksys WRT54GC Wireless Router

These two guys will not work together and let me use the internet.
The modem works if I connect it directly to my computer.

But the modem connected to the router, will not work.

Its probably some settings but i have no idea.

I am using PPPoE broadband.

Any help would be awesome. :9

You do have your router set so it knows you have pppoe instead of dhcp right?

From the little searching I've done, it looks like you might need to update the firmware on one or both devices before attempting this exercise (perhaps some alternative firmware like DD-WRT might be an option to look into), though I found far too many reports of people in your same predicament.

Try bridging the modem to the router and see if you can get anywhere with that.

I have updated both devices to the latest firmwares, unfortunately no 3rd party firmwares like DDWRT are supported by my router.

How do i go on about bridging the modem to the router ? It seems to have only 2 modes; Gateway or Router mode.

ipconfig in cmd when just your dsl modem is plugged in. If you can punch the gateway ip in the browser and see if it has it's own settings. I had to do this with my motorola modem before working with my router.
