Battlefield 1942

I saw it on the screensavers lan party and extended play so i gave it a shot with the demo.
Now i'm hooked, and i hope to get the full version.

I've been practicing so i can frag someone in the TSS Lan but i doubt i can...lol

YEah I know. I got the full version Christmas and I've been playing this, close to non-stop online ever since. I just can't get enough of this game, and I hope that TSS does some more of BF1942 on the Lan Parties.

I've been playing Kingdom Hearts since xmas. I actually am sick of WW2 based games. They have merits, but they have too many of them.

There are SOOO many levels. The demo is just a small part of the BF 1942 game.

no It has 12 levels and one you can download from battlefield1942.com so 13

must be my videocard cause all mine turns into is a jumbled mess with no texture or anything. Ug, I must update to a card that has at least Transform and Lighting. Maybe I buy one this weakend.

this game is a must have!!!!!!!!!!! To me it is sort of like medal of honor and grand theft auto put together. and online gaming is a major plus!

I've been using the demo version of BF 1942 and the confounded thing is buggy. Half-tracks are jittery when turning, sometimes a tank with full health will explode with one hit, I can unload a clip into an enemy's gut and not hit him once, and the list goes on. Quite frankly the thing feels like a beta build. Regardless of the flaws the gameplay is a blast, so I come out feeling "neutral." Not particualarly enjoying the experience, but not hating it either. The gameplay is an ablsolute blast (yeah, i know I said that already). The only problem is that I'm a bit reluctant to put down 50 for a half-baked product. I hear that there are considerable improvements between the 1.1 and the 1.2 releases, but I'm not sure since the demo only is patched to 1.1.

How is it for those who have the full version? I'd like to hear of others experience with it vs. the demo.

When you said that you heard that there was only 4 levels... You might have heard that therer are 4 THEATRES to play in. This means that the 12 or so levels are located either in: The Pacific, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, or No. Africa. Each theatre of levels has their differnt traits. Western Europe is ravaged cities that are heaven for snipers, the Pacific is a lot of planes and ships fighting for control of islands, Eastern Europe is big open fields in countries such as France, and No Africa is mostly tank on tank in the desert.
Im loving the full version but I have had a problem recently

I use the All-Seeing Eye to find servers (found out about it on TSS) and I find really good pings on it. But when I hook into a game I'll start off with my 30-50 ping but it will then shoot up to over 100 and a lot of times to 900. I dont like to be the one lagging the system so I always have to exit the game. I had been playing at the good pings for hours before. Can anyone think of why this would have all of a sudden happened?

i wouldn't call them requirements, but with that system I maxed out the graphics settings and it never glitches

The Xbox version of BF1942 should be out soon...I too have the PC demo of the game and its awesome.

My Geforce 4 Mx 460 won't work on it:( I should of gotten a Ti, but I needed a card fast, and I have the Bf 1942 demo!!!

Anyone with the full version should check out the desert combat mod. It's alpha and has some bugs, but it's lots of fun. It has desert storm era weapons and vehicles, even a helicopter. Just make sure you are running v1.2 of battlefield so you have the mod viewer. [url]www.desertcombat.com[/url}

Online play is fun but it always says that connection problems detected and my guy moves on his own and crap! I have the demo and if I have to deal with that in the full version then I wont buy. btw: anyone else get the connection problems detected box?

yeah battlefield 1942 is a pretty sweet game. I like the fact that i can play it online with up to 64 other people.

:D I downloaded the mod, desert combat. this is a sweet mod. it gives the game new life. I'm am still waiting for a lot of people to load it to play online. When I hop into a plane or a chopper I switch to my joystick. it feels like I'm playing combat flight simulator. that is pretty cool.

Well you would need the pedals and the other stick on the side to make it feel like a chopper. Or just the joystick and the peddales for the plane.

USA_DDR Man I can feel your pain about being stuck on dial-up. I have've been on dial-up for years and it really sux. I was looking into Sattlite 2-way service but man it's just costs way too much money. $139/month and you spend over $1000 to get it hooked up .....I can't believe that people really pay that to get high-speed. If I wait long enough maybe the price will come down :cry:
