Feel free to move the topic as I didn't know where to put it :D
The mod itself was quite easy, gut the NES,stick the hub in, replace the led but I encountered a few probs (mainly due to lack of planning)....The first LED I blew , the second went in fine. But the hardest part of it all was powering it, I had a 3.5mm (I think) plug and socket so I snipped the tiny Netgear one off, I couldn't be bothered to solder directly to the PCB so I soldered onto the old plugs wires...........I could get it work but after hours of frustration and confusion I realised that the 3,5mm socket was crap and didn't work.
So after a few more minor things (Foam underneath and behind the PCB to stop it moving when you put the plugs in) it worked fine
PS: The pins on the controller ports were drilled straight through, I just gotta find really small LED's that'll fit in there without too much filing, then they'll be little LED clusters B)
