View Full Version : Odd Sized Grills or vents

I have a case with a spot for up to four 80mm fans in the front and it's the spaces are drilled as vents just like normal fan spots are. However, the front of my case has a plastic cover that prohibits any of the airflow and makes these spots useless. I have to get some airflow through the front of my case to cool my radiator so I think I'm going to cut two rectangles out to get some air moving. My only problem in doing this is it will most likely make the front of my case look horrible unless I can find some sort of cover or screen to put over it. Any suggestions on a place to find odd sized grills or vents that I could screw on over the wholes for a nicer look?? Or have you seen anything else done that would look "clean"? I have two spaces aprox 2 1/2 x 6in.
Thank you,
Alex

im sure there is a way to do it, but space usually in front of the case it for a hd cooler, or a fan to blow on the hard drive(s)

Also you could get a fan that blows into the pc instead of out, and make a top blowhole.

Well I need the air up front to cool a radiator (it uses a 120mm fan)

You could put the filter screens that Burke has been pushing in the front of your case, if you mount them tto the back of the plastic bezel and have the plastic cut so you can't see the frames it may not look so bad...

You could just drill holes in the plastic on the front of your case but make them symmetrical or make a design. On my case the very front is just holes that are in the shapes of squares right next to each other. The holes would be easy to do if you use a dremel and the drill press attatchment.

Cool thanx for your input! I think I might try to draw out a nice design and drill some holes.. If I mess up I'm going to gut two rectangles and put mesh behind them. I'll let you know how it turned out.
