OK! Since the people at the Overclocking forums wont let me sign up because I only have a @hotmail.com account I will ask you guys here.. I OCed my Xp1600 its running on a Abit-kx7-333 mobo 256mb pc2700ram (waiting for the other stick to come) I cant get passed 158FBS yet and that is the only thing I have messed with... So can anyone help me? Its a softIII menu for bios.

You can damage your CPU doing this so be warned.
To get it up higher you will need to raise the CPU core voltage. There is usually a bios menu for this. If not it is controlled by mobo jumpers. In extreme modding situations volt mods to the motherboard need to be done.
Raise it one increment at a time. If you dont have a good Heatsink/Cooler, don't do it. This will generate more heat which will make the system unstable or not bootable.
Long story short do some research. Google is great tool. While you wont be able to join a lot of forums with free e-mail addy's. A lot of sites have good write ups on this. I will be posting some articles on OCing and modding on my site... time permitting soon.

Well I went out and got a new heatsink and case fan.. So rightnow in my case I am running a AMD XP1600 no oced but I am getting a temp of 42.50 on cpu and 31 on the system...

I have a OCZ Goliath2 SE heatsink... Its working nice and all but its not and cold as I was hopin.. I have a smart fan my TT (cant find box to it)... I am going to leave it unclocked for now but I am getting another stick of pc2700ram in monday (I hope or I willkill the fedex guy :D)

But what are some temps that my comp should be running at?

BTW I did up the cpu power to I think it was 1.80 or somthing like that.. the default was 1.75... It did nothing I still could not get it passed that..

Also what would be a good way to monitor all my fans in my case along with the hd temps and cpu temp?

Motherboard Monitor (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) is good
You could also try hardware monitor (http://www.hmonitor.com/)
As far as fan speed you will only be able to monitor speeds of those connected to the mobo..

1.85v on the CPU is still pretty safe, I'd say go for that and see how high you can get. It might not be the CPU either, raising the FSB raises the PCI and AGP bus's too, and perhaps one of your cards doesn't like the high FSB. Although I belive at 166 FSB the devider kicks in and the PCI and AGP bus are brought back to spec. Just watch the temps and bump the voltage to 1.85 and try 166, it just might go whereas 160-165 wont.

Aslo, are you using AS2 or AS3 on the HSF?

I have no clue whats on the heatsink... Its what ever came with the OCZ Goliath2 SE... I was going to put my smart fan on it...

Thats one key point there, the material you put between the CPU core and the heatsink. If it has one of those thermal pads... they are "ok" for typical use but not for overclocking. If thats what is on it, I suggest you get some arctic silver and scape off the thermal pad and put a VERY thin layer on the cpu core then reinstall the HSF. That should help your temps. My 1600+ idles at 35C and full load at 45C at stock, full load of 47C at 1.57Ghz.

It wont go down any.. and I put some paste on it but I might try putting some of this silver stuff I got on it... How much? and could I mess the cpu by puttin my finger on it?

Touching the CPU won't hurt it, but its best to put thermal compound on with a plasic bag or something liek that on your finger so that the oils from your skin don't get on the core. It won't make a big difference, but when overclocking every degree can count. You only need to put on a VERY, and I mean VERY thing layer, it should be almost transparent. Its just gotta fill in the microscopic pores on the core and the heatsink. If you put too much on it will decrease its performance. Also, try to keep it on the core... don't be messy and get it all over the place, its not supposed to cunduct electricity but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

ok. I will go backinto it and do it how you said. I but a layer so you could not see the core  :x

I might have missed this but is teh processor unlocked. It might be kind if hard to get teh fsb up to 166 with out lowering the multiplyer on the chip. And watch out for ur pci and agp cards that close to 166 is dangerous.
