I was nosing around the net and found a cool looking widget called the Wurlitzer Mini-Bubblers, and 18" high replica of a Wurlitzer Jukebox. But, it only would play one CD at a time. I bought one, planning to put a hard disk MP3 player inside, but by the time it arrived, decided that was way too easy.

It took a lot of shoe-horning, but I managed to get a PC in it. http://gadgetdon.smugmug.com/gallery/60760

Great job Gadget. It looks cool. Are there any heat issue's?

Nope, no heat issues. I've got two fans (one 92 mm, one 80 mm) blowing air through there at a rapid clip.

Update: Once I got the back on, and started using it for some long sessions, there were huge heat issues. It ran OK with the lights off, but with the lights on, overheated after just an hour and shut down.

I changed the processor to a 1.8 GHz Celeron, and it is working much better. Under normal loads, it keeps within reasonable temperatures on both CPU and motherboard, both at around 42C. However, when I installed the Folding@Home client, which kept the processor running at full power, the motherboard temperature eventually rose to 56C and the processor to 63C.

There is good airflow, I can feel the air being sucked in on one hole and blown out on the other. They are on the sides, so I have to make sure that the sides remain unobstructed.

very cool dude! you may want to look @ a low-profile heatsink designed for 1U servers, they are usually made out of very thin copper and dissapate heat very well since they are made for 1.25" high servers :D

I finally wrote it up properly, http://gadgetdon.spymac.net/wurlitzer/index.html

I'll look into those heatsinks, thanks!
