you can get soemthing called a rheobus to turn the speed of the fan up and down which will make it quieter when you turn it down
There's another option other than buyin a rheobus...This would only work if you don't have a window cut in your side-pannel. Go to any music/Dj store and ask for soundproofing material. This is usually installed inbetween the walls of music studios to keep sound out, but it'll work just fine if you glue a block of it on the inside of u'r sidepannel..Although some noise will still come out, it'll make a HUGE difference, trust me, i've almost got thrown out of the house because of my two 80mm tornadoes. :D

well, the tornado is loud because it pushes a lot of air. so if you put a rheobus in and cut the voltage to slow it down, it defeats the purpose of the fan. if you want something quiet with good airflow, get a panaflow.

Panaflo's are quiet but don't exactly give good airflow... Get an adjustable fan so you only need to have it on full when you are using alot of processor power (games etc)... I have a YStech adjustable fan on my slk 800 and it works a treat.
