Winxp Lag's @ Desktop on bootup...???

Anyone else have this issue where your system boots, gets to the desktop and it takes a while before you can actually do anything? My computer will get to the desktop all icons will be loaded anything on the systray will also be loaded however it takes approx 20-30sec before i can do anything even pull up the device manager using the windows key / pause break button short cut. after that finally comes up the computer loads fine. Here is what ive done to try and remedy it.

*Ran scandisk, defragged hdd, removed everything from MSCONFIG Startup, ran BOOTVIS and optimized bootup. all drivers including all windows updates have been performed.

**my computer specs is listed in my sig, so its not like I have a crappy computer.

Download and run Ad-aware version 6 from Lavasoft http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Chances are you have a bunch of hidden junk that is loading with windows.

Herm? I think I got some defaults set, because it used to boot up quickly and it takes quite a while now to boot up.
