I have an AMD Athlon T-Bird @ 1.4GHz and I was wondering what is the normal operating temp of the AMD T-Birds @ 1.4GHz. Currently i'm using stock heatsink cooling and right now my temp is 128*F

i would be able to help you if i knew your temperature in celcius and your cpu stock speed

You have one of the hottest CPU's ever made to start with. No getting around it, the high end T-birds run hot, I have a 1.33Ghz AXIA and it idles at 46C and full load around 53-55C. One thing though, the stock HSF sucks, plain and simple, it "works" but that bout it. Don't plan on any OC'ing, espicially with that chip untill you get a better HSF.

ok that is quite high but i though you had overclocked your cpu i wouldnt feel safe runniny mine at that for a decent cooler go volcano 7 for hard core go slk800 with tornado(loud) or get a smart fan 2 which can be adjusted

I'd like to go water cooling and then try overclocking but its cheaper just to get a koolance case w/it built in plus those cases have windows as well which i would also like to have.

what is wrong with cutting your own window believe me i have cute about 3 and it isnt that hard

I know it isnt hard i could do it but like i said i would like to go watercooling and its cheaper just to get a new case that has watercooling built in like the koolance cases plus those koolance cases already have windows so i wouldnt have to do anything

whats the heatercore for?
techtvman
01-08-2003, 04:23 PM
or how about one of those kits they offer, when they get that part of their site back up, whats better and cheaper kit or separates? and is it going to be better than what koolance has to offer?

it is about the same as koolance maybe a little less and is sooooo much cheaper but the heatercore is for taking the heat out of the water :D

try this
its the only cooling program that i have found that works and is perfectly stable; also has no affect on system performance
your tmeps can drop up to ten degrees

never hurts to try and this one is worth it
53 C!
Man, I get afraid when my 1700+ goes about 45 C...

my Tbird 1.1GHz used to run 55-65C and lock up with plain CoolerMaster heatsink i got with it, until i got a Vantec 6035 and then the temps dropped 10-15C. doesn't get above 45-47C now. I also use the Vantec 6040H on my 2200+ and keeps temps nice and managable.

Max I got with my 1ghz @ 1.33ghz was 39C. Thats using a Cooler Master HAV-V81 at full speed.
