Did EA do a good job of taking over where Westwood left off?

I have always loved command and conquer games, form the orginal to tiberian sun, and the red alerts. Those were classics by Westwood, now EA Games made the latest release C&C Generals.....what do classic command and conquer fans think of the game, so i can know if it's worth dishing out $50 for

I would have to say its THE funnest out of my whole game collection, console and PC, although Halo is still up there =P. Generals is DEFINANTLY worth the 50 dollar dishing. :) The only TINY prob is you can only be 3 different nations, USA, GLA, and China. None of them dont have one thing the other one has though, each is completely unique.

I'm a US person. GLA also appeals to me, but i have never tryed china yet...hm... :P

i preferred the old Westwood, when they used to send me free games
