:idea:
i think we should work on a gaming console which would run a form of linux and a custom bios but will have great parts to it including a 2ghz+ cpu---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i think this would be a great idea and it will be mostly open source
the specs wil run somewhere along these lines:

I need some good designers in the hardware field
I need some good linux programming people in software areas(this includes game design/platform design experience like pc, xbox, ps2, dreamcast, gamecube, psx or similar platforms)
i would like this to be totally free except the hardware
i would like to import direct x 8 or 9 to the linux platform and also would like somebody familliar with bois designing to build a bios which can load in under 10 seconds
if we want an emulator for xbox/ps2 we can fit it in

Media Slots for Secure Digital, Compact Flash, Smart Media, Memory Stick, and Micro Drive

The rear ports will be A/V, DVI, VGA, Power, Keyboard, USB, Firewire, Serial ATA for OS Upgrade, and several others

i will update the stats and stuff from time to time
remember this is opensource so remember all are welcome to contribute with ideas, suggestions, prototypes, programs, etc.
we will have a total of 25 people for the final producers of the hardware and software, but the code will be put on a webpage to build games where you can post your link to download the game as well.
just keep this in mind, no barney and friends games, this is for everything but those stupid games unless somebody really feels the need to build a game like that
