Similar to www.northwardgraphics.com cases. They are real expensive, tho. You can make a business out of it Yoshi, jk. Nice Job!!! Thats hard work, it came out great.

wow, that is badass! I might have to buy another case just to try this. What kind of material is that made out of? Does it matter?

Pay...mod? Isn't the point to do it yourself and get the experience and joy of doing it yourself?

In one of my cases, I had extra drive space left so I cut out a hole in the side of my case and mounted an old CDROM which didn't work quite right (open/close function, still woked), and put a little bit of protection (hard surface over tray, padding blocking gap into system) and now I use it as a cup holder.   Very fun, indeed-e-o!

Actually we used to use the CDROMS at school for cupholders all the time untill somone did spill a drink in one, after that drinks weren't allowed in the computer lab anymore.

I think if it was an AT case or EISA case it would require alot of crazy modification to get his ATX motherboard into it.. Imagine that huge DIN keyboard connector.. thats nuts actually my co worker is working on converting an AT case to fit his ATX stuff.. He is going to attempt to make a yoshi boxx

It is a antec 1080. The case I used for the old y-boxx was a lian-li

Thanks Yoshi. I copied your project exactly with my case (http://www.directron.com/da01wd.htmlurl). Advice to anyone trying to do the same: FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS-Dont try and do it in a short time by not waiting the right amounts of time in between sanding and such. It takes more time and money. All I have left to do is sand w/ 2000 grit and use some rubbing compound. I couldn't find plastic prep anywhwere. Even through the gas mask I'm getting nightmares about the smell of paint. I first started making it red, but looked like a retarded fire engine. Thanks again.

nice window and color scheme
you should cut out the back stock fangrills, paint the i/o shields on the cards, and paint the blue psu black to match ;)

Wow Yoshi that case kicks ass... in has inspired me to give my casing a face lift... I sent you an email earlier but I just recently stumbled across your forums. My question is can you sand down and paint the plastic parts of a case. I have a chieftech casing that i picked up used for 50 bucks. It a real nice case and I dont want to screw it up by sanding down plastic when you are not suppose to.

the sanding down is just to get smoothness, it depends on how smooth the plastic is

It could be smoother. I was jsut woried about it scratching up the plastic rather then making it smooth.

you wont scratch it. I actually went down to a 200 grit paper when painting my case. The metal part was fine with the 400 grit "starting paper" but for the plastic face I ended up going down to a 200. Once you go through the steps you will see what I mean. Were not talking about sanding drywall, this is very fine sandpaper.

I actually just finished sanding the case about 30 mins ago. I was impressed on how smooth it got. I think this will deffinatly be a worth while thig to do.
