Everytime I click on a link on my home page (yahoo) i get a res://C:WINDOWSSystem32shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm. Also on some webpages banner ads will also display this message.. I've read on othe pages that i could have something to do with the proxy settings in internet explorer which are unchecked in my browser. This happens in IE, Avant, and netscape??? What Gives?

That error page is generally I.E.'s way of saying "I cant find the page" either meaning, your connection is not up, the site you are visiting is down, or maybe even severe lag betwen is enough to cause tons of lost packets resulting in no link between you and the attended site.
