Hey all! I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of any problems with installing Mandrake 8 over Windows XP(XP stays and Linux gets a seperate partition). If anyone has, please let me know before I go to install it. Thanks,

i run xp and mandrake on my computer and they run just fine together. The only thing is that if you reinstall xp you have to reinstall mandrake because then xp won't want to share the computer with mandrake if you don't

unless you "format MBR"

that is true.

Okay, I seem to be having trouble installing it. It doesn't seem to be able to resize my fat 32 partitions. I tried both drives and it doesn't seem to work. How can I get around this and just let it live on my non-windows system files drive?

Have you tried deleting the partition that you're putting Mandrake on and using the Mandrake setup to create and format that partition. This helped on mine.

Nope, I just had to defrag it (didn't take long at all considering the drive only had 4 gb of stuff on it in use from XP). Once i did that, it worked fine :)
