Need ideas/help for this one!

I’m new to this forum so first of all I would like to say hi! Now on to the modding! Ok here’s what I want to do... I want to make a really small pc basically to be used as a pvr/dvd/mp3 box to sit up by my TV. I would really like to have my pc look like the one here ( http://www.hitechmods.com/mods/The_Ice_Cub..._Ice_Cube.shtml (http://www.hitechmods.com/mods/The_Ice_Cube/The_Ice_Cube.shtml) ). I want to change the design a little bit by adding an LCD screen on the front and doing a few other miscellaneous things. The real problem I’ve come across though is what to do with the DVD player. In my idea there is no room on the front for a DVD-ROM. So I got to thinking one night while playing my game cube. I then came up with the idea of making a top load DVD-ROM just like the game cube has. Problem solved! Now the problem is how to I make a top load DVD-ROM? I need some help on this one! Lay out your ideas!

I know Yoshi, i just didnt realize where i posted it. Anyway I took apart an old cd-rom I had just lying around and experimented with it. I found out that it *might* be possible to make a top load dvd-rom but it looks like it will be pretty hard. I had another idea though. I could mount a slot load dvd-rom vertical and have the cd just pop out of the top of the case. How do you think the vertical standing dvd would work?

It should work fine verticle. I have been planning to do that with a desk project. I want to build a system into my desk at home.

Ive found that some CD or DVD Roms come with seating clips so that you can have your C/D ROM sideways. There may be some out there that can sit vertical by default. What aboot side mounting eh?
