Hello everyone, I'm kind of new to the forums, but not to modding. I enjoy modding especially consoles, but I do PC's as well. Here I am going to show to you my MAME cabinet that I built in my Woodworking class this year. It is built out of oak plywood except for the control box which is solid oak. All of it's controls were bought from Ultimarc.com. The computer I put in it is a Shuttle case with an AMD Athtlon XP 1800+, 512mb, 80gb HDD, and a Radeon 9600xt all-in-wonder, which I am currently in the middle of modding. Here are the pictures:

I plan on eventually getting plexiglass pieces for the front and the marqueee. Questions and comments are welcome :) .

EDIT: I forgot to give credit where it is due. I was heavily inspired by the arcade machine found here (http://netbox.home.mindspring.com/arcade/), in fact mine is almost exactly the same excluding to access door on the bottom.

A completely custom cabinet. Very Impressive. :o

You could vineer* around the trackball, make some wood handles for the joysticks, and make a wood trackball. Just a suggestion.

Heh, as cool as that sounds, I don't have the equipment to make custom joystick handles :( . That's a good idea though.

Great work!

Keyboard looks a little tough to get to... maybe some type of hinge on the door?

Still Sweet!

Great job bob. http://img68.photobucket.com/albums/v208/WVJammer/fing32.gif
Maybe you could build
a panel out of oak plywood,
so that just the "screen" of
the monitor shows up. That
way you won't see "the beige
box". Just a thought.

That is pretty impressive man. That would be great if you get one of those black marquee things with the red text to fit into that top piece. Amazing stuff right there.

I spy a POWERBITE down there. B)

Great job on the cabinet, great use of plywood. I can tell a lot of work went into it.

I remember seeing a computer-arcade machine before, but it wasn't as well made as this.
Great job.

very nice

my only suggestion would be to replace the monitor with a mirror and put an upside screen below, like arcade machines in the arcade do.

that would top it off

Working off the mirror idea, you could get a convex(?) mirror so the picture is enlarged.
