I have a msi geforce 4 mx 420 in my main computer and i was thinking about overclocking it for the heck of it but i want to make sure that it doesn't over heat. Is there any programs that will monitor the video card temp so i can make sure that it doesn't overheat and if there are what are the names of the programs. Thanks alot.

not that i know of.. but if it does over heat.. it will just lock~up or reboot your system.. i have yet to see one that accually "dies"
use the coolbits, remove the sink thats on there now.. add artic silver, replace sink, add a fan if it dosnt have one.. ect..

yeah i was planning on adding a fan but i just wanted to be able to monitor the temps so that i knew if i had to lower the settings or not.

i know, .. but the way we OC a vid card is.. (as far as backing down some) Once you see artifacts or tearing in the video.. or lockups or re-boots.. thats when you back down..
the extra cooling of artic silver and a fan will allow it to go higher without those issues.. higher clock rates..
but, no sorry.. dont know of a progy for the vid card..

that helps a lot. So what your saying is that i really can't kill my video card just from it overheating. That makes me feel a lot better.
