Does anyone out there know of any good softwear that I can run Linux

while I still have Windows running also?

Also if needed to partion the drive?

mandrake. I run XP and mandrake 8.2.

during install of mandrake.. it will partition for you.. its kewl..

9.1 is almost done.. but you can d/l 9.0 now..

thanks, so you mean that when I install mandrake it will partion the drive

itself? that is neat. also is it free? a lot of the linux versions I have

looked at cost like 30 bucks at the least.

go to http://www.linuxiso.org You can download any distro for free and the best part is that it is perfectly legal.

so you say that mandrake is good to start out with?

I am new to this and I want something easy to use that also runs

on windows.

i started out with mandrake when i got into linux. Yeah it is pretty easy to install and use.

I get the Mandrake newsletter and I just got the one about 9.1 but I didn't see what they did to improve 9.0 or what's different, anyone know?

what would you guys suggest a a disto to start off with.

keep in mind this is my first time using linux.

Yeah I guess mandrake is good for the newbies.. But once youre good with linux I suggest you switch to either Gentoo or slackware :D OR BSD even.. Gotta love them berkly folks..
