Okay guys, my original plan was to paint my keyboard, mouse and tower with krylon and then decoupage the rest of my case, but I ran into a snag.

My keyboard came out pretty good, but my mouse came out horribly, the paint bled everywhere (through 2 coats of tape) and it's already peeling and such, so I was thinking of sanding them down and decoupaging them instead, I've talked to a few people and they say that the mouse and keys wouldn't work if i did, but I said on the keyboard there would be no decoupage around the keys I would cut them off at the edges.. But do you guys think this would make it not work?

Also my case is aluminum, would I need to sand it to get the decoupage to stick?

Thanks guys!

what exactly is decoupaging??

Well aluminum cases all they really need is a sanding, a primer, and the color. The clear coat is optional but recommended.

for mice and keyboards try using vinyl dye. its great on plastics. i used it to paint my mouse and it came out great other than the thumb print on the side because of my impatience but its sanded and fixed now :)

remember to paint in thin coats. the VERY first time i painted that mouse it came out horrible because of the one thick coat of paint that started to drip everywhere. thin coats are always better too.

decoupage is basically a glue that you stick pictures on with... here is an example of a shoe box I decoupaged...

if its a glue, most likely its gonna need a rough surface to stick on.

My mom used to decoupage pictures onto the backs of clear plates for decoration. Pretty neat stuff.

Cool and origional idea.

I had read on here somewhere of someone else doing it, that's why I was asking... I thought maybe they would have some pointers, I guess i'll just have to find out on my own :) I'll tell you guys how it turns out....
