New Monitor LCD or CRT

I am planning on getting a new monitor and was wondering what I should get?

CRT would give the best quality for gaming, although LCD's are lighter and would be easier to haul to the lanners.

if you plan on doing any gaming at all you should definatly go with a crt. I have heard about LCDs that have a high enough refresh rate to work awsome for gaming but they are really expensive.

Naw I have my computer I built at work and am testing it out. Works fine, No ghosting whatsoever.. light, sharp image, works great! Even the top of the line Alienware monitor is an NEC LCD.. (I believe its NEC anyways its and LCD 30" model) Badass I tell you.

Go w/ the LCD.

a good lcd is going to be a lot more than a good crt.

it does, I have a gateway profile, although its not the best gamebox, its cool for age of empires, mythology, or wcIII, and unreal tourney.. anyways, lcds are great for lan parties, but when badass games that require a good vid card i stay out.. lol this because of the limitations of my video card and not my lcd screen, because it displays stuff just fine.

If i had the $$ I would get an lcd for my new box but i dont so I will get me a crt most likely... but you never know.

If there will be LAN parties involved, LCD all the way!!!

I found a deal on a Sony X82B and I love it. I'm never going back to CRT. If you have to carry it, you just can't beat the convenience.

LCD's are more suited for the office, or people who dont do stuff like CAD, Graphics Design, Gaming, so if my mom was gonna get a new PC, then i'd say get a LCD

Do you get good visuals with LCDs compared with CRTs when playing games. I know they have a fished size but does that really affect the quility of the image?
