Just the usual: notes, music, movies, internet, had a web server running on it once. Looking in to getting a 2GB microdrive for it, so I can put a dvd on there or something.

It's called Pico Web Server for PocketPC. Newmad Technologies (http://www.newmad.se/software.asp). Freeware, second one down on the page.

If I were going to do it, I would get a Creative MuVo 2 and take the Hitachi 4gb microdrive out of it, swap it with a 512 card. Then I would have a nice 512 mp3 player and a 4gb drive for my handheld or camera.

Again...the Muvo has a Micro Drive ( A small Hard Drive). Be carefull though with all the articles about using the 4gb microdrive in the unit for camera. Creative had Hitachi the maker of the drive, modify it so it would not work in anything other than the muvo. If you find an old Muvo your golden. if youre not sure I wouldn't bother opening it.

How do you play movies on a palm?

My Tungsten|T2 (palmOne) came with an app called Kinoma and a desktop converter. It converts audio to mono and makes the movie the size of the screen to shrink file size. Kinoma plays MP3's rather stupidly (and those are just converted files as well).

I would recommend something else, but I don't use my Palm for much except school work and games. I would use Pocket Tunes or RealOne for Palm MP3 playback...

i use kinoma to convert video to my palm. i havent really had any problems, buts its really slow

does anyone know of any programs that convert dvds to a format viewable on palm that is made for mac? (i know there are some for pc, but i havent found any mac apps)

ok, i've seen some good and bad on this one... but here's a question from a rookie (please no noob comments, i know i have to start somewhere) i have used it as a remote, i have used it with the keyboard... i'm looking for thoughts and suggestions on what i can do to it without spending a lot of money. it's basically trash and i'd like something to show off. i'm not looking for an app to dl i even wrote a few small apps that weren't worth my time... the gps would be cool if i could find it, but maybe a color screen... anything to keep it out of the trash.
thanks

I Have an iPAQ, and I installed linux on it, I've had it run a web server over wireless.. But it ate up the battery to quick =) I've also had an ssh server and ftp server on it at one time. But after the geekyness of that wore off I just started using it as a PDA again.. SSH is still on it tho.
